What is TableMimic?

TableMimic is a connected toolkit for running tabletop RPG campaigns, bringing DM tools, player dashboards and physical table displays into one system.

It is built around the table you already play at. Paper, minis and dice stay where they are; the screens take over the bookkeeping: initiative, hit points, maps, spell effects and campaign notes.

The three parts

DM Dashboard

The DM's tools as windows on one desktop: initiative, compendium, dice, generators, world maps, dungeons, encounters and the campaign planner. The layout is saved with the campaign.

Player Dashboard

A character sheet built from modules the player enables and arranges. It handles rolls, spells, hit points and rests, and it is made for a phone or tablet at the table.

Table Display

A screen or projector in the middle of the table: the map under the minis, fog of war, spell effects and the turn order. You drive it from your dashboard.

How they connect: you open a table and your players join by scanning a QR code or typing a six-character code. From then on character data, initiative and effects travel between the parts, so when you start a fight your players get an initiative prompt and the order shows up on the table.

What TableMimic is not

Who makes it

I'm Jan Barták, and I run TableMimic as an independent project, not as a product of a game publisher. Rules content comes from openly licensed sources: SRD 5.1, Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition, OGL third-party material and the Black Flag Reference Document. TableMimic is a fan-made tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast. Details are in the licenses.

You can send me questions, ideas and bug reports through the contact page or through the feedback button inside the tools.

What it costs

Every standalone tool is free and runs in the browser with nothing to install. Accounts add cloud sync across devices. During the beta, all cloud and connected-table features are free; after the beta, a DM plan will cover the connected table for everyone who joins it. See pricing.

TableMimic is built in spare time. If it makes your sessions easier and you would like to support it, you can do so on Ko-fi. The tools stay free either way.
